Being there in St Francis is really an important turning-point of my life! From a girl staying under the protection of the family, I, for the first time, went out on my own to a completely different world from what I had known and imagined. It was eye-opening. I found myself trembling from both excitement and fear. Thankfully, St Francis gave me a home far away from home. Over there, I shared a family with people from different countries, different cutural backgrounds, using different languages yet we were strangely united and understood each other. We were gradually getting closer despite speaking with broken english and in turn, learning phrases in other languages. I also found it easier to be myself over there. I shared dreams with friends who were always there for me, I befriended with teachers who refused to give up on their students, the canteen aunty who knew right away what I was about to order before I did, the security guard noticed I didn't come to school and asked me if I was fine the day after. Even the library lady gave me candies everytime I went. It was then that I knew I was exactly where I was supposed to be, St Francis - where indivisual matters. I feel thankful for the time spending there. Have a wonderful celebration!
